Mrs. Martine Todisoa comes from the village of Vohitrambato, in the Municipality of Toamasina II. She is a member of the Fehizoro Irintsoa Cooperative, which gathers 150 members, including five women involved in a basket weaving business.

This sector is currently thriving in the village thanks to the tourist tour project, which encouraged the production of bags, mats, coffee filters, and stools of different shapes.

Their products are sold at the Ankirihiry market, in downtown Toamasina, but, in the long term, they aspire to be exposed to other opportunities. Thus, they have been participating in the FIER Mada fair for three years now to see the handicraft production from other areas.

Mrs. Todisoa hopes to repeat the success her products experienced during the 2017 FIER Mada edition when they were sold like hot cakes in just three days.
This year, Fehizoro Irintsoa’s male members were mainly involved in manufacturing stools, namely, the carpentry part before weaving. This enabled the production of stools of different shapes (triangular, round, and square shapes).
