Toamasina April 7, 2020. In order to support efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19, Ambatovy continues to bring its contribution by donating a batch of 5,200 protective coveralls to fight against coronavirus contamination. This batch will be distributed to four localities, namely, Toamasina, Moramanga, Brickaville, and Antananarivo.
The first donation, including 1,500 TYVEK protective coveralls, was made on April 7, 2020, to the Covid-19 Prefectural Operational Command Center, in Toamasina. These coveralls serve as sanitary barriers, designed to individually protect medical staff and the various frontline stakeholders against Covid-19 and any contact with the virus in the performance of their tasks.
In the coming days, Ambatovy will proceed with the delivery of these donations to the other three localities, according to the chart below:
Beneficiary localities | Number of coveralls | Approximate value (in Ariary) |
Toamasina | 1,500 | 24,500,000 |
Brickaville | 200 | 3,900,000 |
Moramanga | 500 | 9,800,000 |
Antananarivo | 3,000 | 49,200,000 |
It should be recalled that this donation follows other contributions made by the company to support the efforts deployed to fight against the spread of Covid-19, among others, by donating medical supplies and equipment to the regions of Toamasina and Moramanga. Combatting the coronavirus pandemic is ensuring the health, safety and hygiene of employees and communities, which is among Ambatovy’s number one priorities in the sustainable development approach in its intervention areas.
