As part of its social commitment, Ambatovy provided support to the village of Ampitambe, located in the Suburban Municipality of Ambohibary, for the realization of its local development plan through the construction of two new classrooms for the Public Primary School (EPP) as well as the construction of a Primary Health Care Center (CSB), a football field with bleachers, hand pumps for eight wells, and a gendarmerie outpost. These infrastructures were constructed in collaboration with the community, which also provided a beneficiary contribution. For its part, Ambatovy contributed over 85 million Ariary for the implementation of the infrastructures. Other equipment and agricultural inputs, such as rototillers, weeders, watering cans, fertilizer, and seeds, amounting to 36.7 million Ariary, were also donated to six farmers’ associations around the Mine during the infrastructure inauguration ceremony on December 28, 2013. Health, education, youth, and security are areas in which Ambatovy enthusiastically contributes to the grassroots communities’ concerns to ensure their well- being and development.
