From November 4 to 21, 2019, Ambatovy offered about 3,600 school kits to schoolchildren from 24 Public Primary Schools (EPP), located in three of its intervention areas, namely in Toamasina II, in the Moramanga area, and in the District of Brickaville.

These school supply kits consisted of schoolbags, notebooks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, compasses, rulers, and protractors. 830 were distributed to 5 EPPs in Toamasina II, 1,880 to 14EPPs around Moramanga, and 900 to 5 EPPs in the District of Brickaville.

In Madagascar like in all countries of the world, education is a priority, in particular for parents who want to ensure a better future for their children. Many children in rural and remote areas do not go to schools. Those who are lucky enough to attend schools are, however, facing various constraints, especially financial ones. Education is also one of Ambatovy’s priorities. We train our workers and hope that through the education they received as children and youngsters, they have a good start.” said Ambatovy’s President, Stuart Macnaughton.

This large donation- the objective of which is to improve the school enrolment rate for children in its intervention areas- is part of Ambatovy’s efforts to promote education for all, which is one of its priorities in the implementation of sustainable development in these areas.
