We are pleased to present the inaugural sustainability report for Ambatovy, a nickel mining project in Madagascar. While compiling the report, we endeavoured to adhere to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines, which are widely considered to be the international standard for reporting on corporate responsibility. This report gives a detailed account of our performance in six key areas:

• Environmental management
• Labour practices
• Human rights
• Product responsibility
As an annual publication, this report will help us to evaluate our progress and improve our efforts to meet – and where possible exceed – our sustainability commitments.
