The Mivoatra Association, based in Ampitambe, Moramanga, is one of the key suppliers of fruits and vegetables to the company managing catering services for Ambatovy employees. Established in 2014 with technical support from Ambatovy as part of a women’s empowerment initiative in the region, the association began supplying agricultural produce in 2023.
Currently, the association delivers over one ton of fruits and vegetables each month, including bananas, watermelons, cucumbers, zucchinis, and more, according to its president, Florentine Razanamanana. Ambatovy has played a significant role in supporting the association by providing free agricultural inputs and training in farming techniques.
“These training sessions have been invaluable in helping us improve our yields, which has allowed us to increase our income,” said Razanamanana.
