On March 27, 2026, Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR), one of Ambatovy’s shareholders, donated construction materials to repair the roof of the Ambokarivo public primary school (EPP), located in Toamasina II, which was damaged during Cyclone Gezani.

This donation will allow the school’s roof to be restored, enabling 315 children to return to school safely as soon as possible. The school was originally built by Ambatovy in 2013.

“Even in challenging times, education remains the most powerful means of overcoming adversity,” said Hyunsuk Park, KOMIR’s representative at Ambatovy. “It is a key driver of the future of Madagascar and its communities.”

Through this contribution, KOMIR reaffirms its support for communities in Ambatovy’s areas of operation and contributes to ongoing recovery and reconstruction efforts in the region.
