A celebration was held on January 13, 2015 to mark a safety milestone of 335,000 man-hour without accident at the construction site of the new market of Moramanga, which is one of the projects funded by the Ambatovy Social Investment Fund.
Ambatovy wanted to express its gratitude to the 238 workers from four companies that are collaborating on the construction site for the continued attention and efforts they constantly made to comply with the company’s “Zero Accident” Health and Safety Policy, without which this important milestone would not have been achieved. The event was marked by the distribution of certificates.
It should be known that all Ambatovy’s employees and contractors must comply with the company’s Safety policies and procedures to ensure that all business operations are safely conducted as the safety of the employees, contractors and surrounding communities is a top priority for Ambatovy.
As a full member of the community in which it operates, Ambatovy created a USD 25 million Social Investment Fund to finance 17 social and infrastructure projects in the company’s intervention areas.
