Ambatovy is proud to announce it has received ISO 9001-2008 certification for the refining, analysis, and shipping of its export products. This milestone was marked by an official presentation of the certificate by the international certification body, AFNOR, at the Ambatovy Plant site in Toamasina, on April 28, 2014.
This certification recognizes Ambatovy’s commitment to seek continuous improvement across all of its operations. “Ambatovy is greatly proud to receive this ISO 9001-2008 certification,” said Mark Plamondon, the President of Ambatovy. “This certification is international recognition of Ambatovy’s mission to become a leader in the sustainable production of high-quality nickel and cobalt for the global market.”
Ambatovy’s ISO 9001-2008 certification represents the culmination of its Quality Management System begun in 2010. The certification enables Ambatovy to apply to register its products on the London Metal Exchange, and to sell its refined nickel briquettes. It confirms Ambatovy’s ability to provide goods and services meeting the needs of its worldwide clients, and certifies that its products comply with international market requirements.
“Your certification is the result of several months of hard work and dedication, hard work by the management, but also by all the team members involved! It is a credit to the whole dedicated team of professionals to attain such recognition after a rigorous assessment,” confirmed Dimitri Schaub, representative of the certification body AFNOR during the ceremony.
