Grievance Management
Ambatovy is committed to facilitating stakeholders’ expressions of questions and concerns; and to ensuring that all grievances
are handled rigorously. Our grievance mechanism, which addresses affected communities’ concerns and complaints, is an
important pillar of the stakeholder engagement process.
In 2013, we continued to improve our 30-day response rate from 48% to 67%
.
Some of the grievances we received were
concerning compensation procedures as well as environmental impacts.
Ambatovy also established an External Grievance Committee that allows community members to provide feedback on
processes in place thus, enhancing the legitimacy and transparency of Ambatovy’s grievance mechanism.
