Nickel
Eating dinner with a knife and fork? Nickel is essential for producing stainless steel cutlery. Reading this report on
your laptop? There is a good chance that nickel is in your laptop battery.
Ambatovy's primary product is nickel, which is found in hundreds of thousands of products, most of which we encounter in our
everyday lives. Two-thirds of the worldwide consumption of nickel is as a component of stainless steel. Nickel and stainless
steel can be found in buildings, medical instruments, airplanes, household tools and appliances, coins, rechargeable batteries,
portable computers and many more items.
Cobalt
Need to recharge some batteries? Cobalt is a key ingredient in making rechargeable batteries. Taking a flight to visit
family? Airplane engines depend on cobalt to prevent corrosion.
Our secondary product, cobalt, is most often found alongside nickel or copper. For centuries, cobalt has been used to add vivid
blues to glass and pottery. It is now used in many industrial products, including catalysts to produce cleaner fuels.
Ammonium Sulphate
Much of today’s food production depends on fertilizer. Ammonia sulphate – one of Ambatovy’s by-products – can be used to
make fertilizers that improve soil quality, making ammonium sulphate fertilizer an excellent component of a complete agricultural
improvement plan.
In 2013, ammonium sulphate fertilizer produced by Ambatovy started to be sold in Madagascar where agriculture is the
mainstay of the economy.

according to ISO 9001 requirements. In April 2014,
Ambatovy celebrated its success when we received
ISO 9001:2008 certification. This certification
further demonstrates our commitment to long-term
sustainability.
