Environment
•
Developed a Biodiversity Action Plan and the
Ambatovy Offset Strategy in alignment with the
International Finance Corporation’s Performance
Standards.

Continued to support six local associations that
are leading the way in terms of sustainable natural
resource management.
Economic
•
56% of our suppliers are from Madagascar.
•
Over 500 Malagasy companies have contracts
with Ambatovy with another 3,000 registered as
potential suppliers.
•
Over 700 students and 70 companies have
completed training at Ambatovy’s Business
Training Centre that was inaugurated this year.
Social
•
Supported the construction of 12 classrooms as
part of the Ecofriendly Schools project.
•
Presented land titles to the local people of
Marovato, one of the two resettlement
communities.
•
Financed the construction of 26 wells to support
access to clean water in local communities.
Labour
•
Rolled out our anti-corruption and business ethics
policies and over 90% of Ambatovy’s employees
completed training on these new policies as of
mid-2013.
•
Provided 100 hours of leadership training to 160
employees through Ambatovy’s Leadership
Development Program.
