• Glassware
The type of glassware found provides chronological information, given that casting techniques evolved over the years. Older
glassware may still contain air bubbles, whilst such imperfections have disappeared in modern times. Since Malagasy artisans
did not make such items, glassware is an excellent indicator of the volume of trade conducted with foreign countries: once again
highlighting the importance of the Ampasimbe region.
