This year\u2019s report showcases the Company\u2019s continuing commitment to health and safety, environmental protection, stakeholder engagement, business ethics, and economic development at the local, regional and national levels.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights from the 2013 Report include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"liste\" style=\"margin-left: 30px;\">\n<li><strong>Safety:<\/strong> Recorded a 57% decline in the frequency of lost-time injuries.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Environment:<\/strong> Helped protect over 26,000 ha of forests and wetlands \u2013 almost 15 times the size of the mine footprint.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economy:<\/strong> Paid US$27 million to the Government of Madagascar in taxes, fees and other related payments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Employment:<\/strong> Continued to create direct and indirect jobs.
