It was an opportunity for Ambatovy to share the findings of indigenous culture and civilization that were uncovered during construction of the Pipeline and to show the efforts the Company has made to ensure the protection and preservation of these cultural sites. The discoveries, which have yet to be published, include the remains of ancient villages, burial grounds, sacred stones and sacred sites, the oldest of which date back to the 13th century.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Culture and Heritage\u2019s Chief of Staff, Mr. Rivo Rabeharivelo, was delighted with what he discovered during the visit, describing the work that Ambatovy has done in unearthing, preserving and enhancing the cultural heritage of Madagascar as highly commendable. In addition, Mr. Thierry Raharison, Project Director of TIASARY, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, added that these sites need to be recognized for the recovery of Madagascar\u2019s historical and cultural heritage to instill a sense of national pride based on cultural wealth.<\/p>\n<p>The tour also included making a stop at Ambatovy\u2019s two information centres in Moramanga and Toamasina, as well as the research nursery in Ampangadiatrandraka where the Vazimba burial site (a sacred site) is located.<\/p>\n<p>The delegation finished their tour at the Centre for Ethnological and Linguistics Studies Research (CEREL) in Toamasina, where Ambatovy has filed some 4,851 archaeological objects found during the construction of the 220km Pipeline that runs between Moramanga and Toamasina.<\/p>\n<p>The items, which include terracotta pots, imported ceramics, glass, stones, metals, and bones, amongst others, are being stored at CEREL pending the forthcoming establishment of a museum. Ambatovy, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Heritage, will be working together to see to it that the new museum will preserve the cultural richness in the Region of Atsinanana.<\/p>\n<p><!--:--><!--:fr--><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8405\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ambatovy.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sacred_site.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"350\" \/>Du 11 au 15 septembre 2012, suite \u00e0 une demande du Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et du Patrimoine, Ambatovy a organis\u00e9 une visite culturelle dans l\u2019Alaotra Mangoro et le long de la Route Nationale n\u00b02 pour quelques employ\u00e9s du minist\u00e8re afin de faire d\u00e9couvrir 12 localit\u00e9s qui abritent diff\u00e9rents sites culturels et des vestiges arch\u00e9ologiques. Ce fut l&#8217;occasion pour Ambatovy de partager les d\u00e9couvertes de cultures et de civilisations qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mises au jour durant la construction du Pipeline et de montrer les efforts que la Compagnie a fait pour assurer la protection et la pr\u00e9servation de ces sites culturels. Parmi les d\u00e9couvertes, qui n&#8217;ont pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9es, des restes d&#8217;anciens villages, de cimeti\u00e8res, de pierres sacr\u00e9es et de sites sacr\u00e9s, dont les plus anciens datent du 13\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p>Le Chief of Staff du Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et du Patrimoine, Mr. Rivo Rabeharivelo, s\u2019est dit satisfait de ce qu&#8217;il a d\u00e9couvert lors de la visite, qualifiant le travail de mise \u00e0 jour, de pr\u00e9servation et de valorisation du patrimoine culturel de Madagascar r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par Ambatovy de tr\u00e8s louable. En outre, Mr. Thierry Raharison, Directeur de Projet de TIASARY, une organisation affili\u00e9e au Minist\u00e8re de la Culture et du Patrimoine, a ajout\u00e9 que ces sites doivent \u00eatre reconnus pour la valorisation du patrimoine historique et culturel de Madagascar,afin de susciter un sentiment de fiert\u00e9 nationale bas\u00e9 sur les richesses culturelles.<\/p>\n<p>Des passages dans les deux centres d&#8217;information d&#8217;Ambatovy \u00e0 Moramanga et Toamasina, ainsi que la p\u00e9pini\u00e8re de recherche d\u2019Ampangadiatrandraka, o\u00f9 se trouve le lieu de s\u00e9pulture Vazimba (un site sacr\u00e9), faisaient \u00e9galement partie de la visite. La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation a termin\u00e9 sa visite au Centre d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de recherches ethnologiques et linguistiques (CEREL) \u00e0 Toamasina, o\u00f9 Ambatovy a d\u00e9pos\u00e9 environ 4851 objets arch\u00e9ologiques d\u00e9couverts durant la construction du Pipeline de 220 km reliant Moramanga \u00e0 Toamasina.<\/p>\n<p>Les objets, notamment des pots en terre cuite, des c\u00e9ramiques import\u00e9es, le verre, les pierres, les m\u00e9taux et les os sont entrepos\u00e9s au CEREL en attendant la cr\u00e9ation prochaine d&#8217;un mus\u00e9e.
